Jim Hackett launched AJ Hackett Design & Construction in 1999 with 15 years executive experience with firms such as Walton's, Rowe Furniture, and Sears. During those early years he received numerous awards and honors for his creative design talents and project management abilities.
With great care and personal pride, Jim has renovated a variety of great homes on both coasts. From classic colonial, craftsman and vintage homes, to 5-acre equestrian estate, marina
town homes and Hampton style beach houses. Not only has Jim's design and project experience brought these classics back to life, but back to life with dramatic new kitchens and baths, outdoor rooms, exotic front porches, and more
functional living spaces.
Over the years through the process of helping homes realize their potential, Jim is recognized not only for his unique capability for home renovation and additions, but as having a true passion for the redesign and renovation process. Jim says, "I find myself just as proud to create a great new carriage house or outdoor living area, a new suite for the in-laws or even a guest house, as I do for renovating a large estate."
Jim is a licensed California General Contractor. His affiliations include
memberships in: The Institute of Classic Architecture and Classic America, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, The Historic Homes Foundation,
The Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois, and The Southern California Society of Architectural Historians.
